In Sterling, VA, a local Fairway Independent Mortgage branch and the American Warrior Initiative (AWI), partnered to honor a U.S. veteran with a grant. Along with this event, a residential housing “Boot Camp” was held to train real estate professionals and mortgage planners on how to handle the home purchase needs of active duty and military veterans with excellence.
The honoree at this event was Jared Gould. Gould lost most of his hearing while deployed, and the grant donated by AWI and Fairway will help with medical expenses due to hearing loss. Gould is also a Civil War history enthusiast. Because of this, Fairway and AWI awarded him and his family with a tour of Gettysburg, VA!
Branch Manager Jeff Satre was honored to be part of this wonderful event. He said:
“This was my first AWI event. I’ve been with Fairway since August 2015. Telling you I was moved by the experience doesn’t do the event justice. I go back to the statement, ‘Mortgages are what I do; they’re not who I am – I help people.’ This event is another example of why I love Fairway and will never work anywhere else. Giving back is important, as I feel blessed to be in my position. AWI tells the story and then gives back to the veterans who have made our freedom possible.”
Founded by Louise Thaxton and Sean Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, which seeks to ease the transition for U.S. veterans between military and civilian life.
I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can help answer any questions about VA loans or any other home loan options, give me a call.Tags: Veterans
